McFarlane Arbiter is considered as a high commander of the elites. He lost his honor among the prophets when he failed to protect the first Halo. Disillusioned by the reason behind the covenant's war against humanity, he leads the elites when they align with the UNSC. He is the secondary playable character in Halo 3 as well as master chief's ally in the fight against the covenant and flood.Though considered a high commander of the Elites, the Arbiter lost his honor among the Prophets when he failed to protect the first HALO.
